Golf Driving Instruction – Improve Your Golf Driving

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Driving in golf is one of the most important aspects of the game, get it right and you will be sending your ball speeding off down the green in the right direction to get close to the hole, get it wrong and you could find yourself fishing a ball out of the woods or even a lake! Many people, in order to raise their game and bring about improvements in their golfing look towards golf driving instruction to help them to iron out any problems that they find they have.

Golf driving instruction is easy and straightforward to set up, simply go to your local driving range or golf club and enquire about the availability of their instructors. This way you will get instruction from a professional and you will benefit from the one to one lessons that doing this will give you.

Obviously to get golf driving instruction you will be expected to pay a per lesson fee although you can get this cheaper if you go along to a class which has other people all getting taught at the same time.

However this method is maybe not so useful if you feel that you need more personal attention, so private golf driving instruction should be taken.

When you begin your golf driving instruction you will be asked a number of questions by the instructor so that they can assess your level of skill which will enable you to get the most out of your lesson. Once this has been done you will begin your instruction, you will be shown how to stand, how to hold your club, how to perfect your backswing and more. By taking golf driving instruction you will get better at golf and know that you are being taught by an expert in the game which will get you results.

Better Golf Swing – The Mental Part Of Golf

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Are you after a better golf swing, but you have no idea how to get there? You are just like many golfers looking for a better way to play golf and more enjoyment out of every round of golf. If you want to improve your golf swing, then keep reading.

The mental side of golf is probably the most important part of golf. Golf is about 90% mental. If you step up to the ball with a bad shot in mind, then you will hit a bad shot. If you step up to a shot and you are afraid of putting it in the trees on the right, then you will probably end up in the trees on the right.

You have to learn how to picture the perfect shot. The golf swing will come naturally and you will hit better shots once you fix the mental part of your golf game. You have to learn how to concentrate on the shot and the task at hand. You cannot be worried about what you did with the last shot or the last hole or how you hit the club you are getting ready to hit the last time you hit it.

You have to get control of your mental golf game in order to have a better golf swing. You have to be able to block out vehicles passing by, other golfers talking, bugs making noise, and any other noise that might happen in your back swing or during your set up. This is very important and you just have to continually practice in order to get this down. Some golfers will go to a crowded range and practice as if they were on the course while blocking out all the conversations and other golfers on the range. This is great mental practice.

You are controlled by your last most dominate thought 99% of the time. If you think it, typically, you will try to make it happen. So if you walk up to the tee box and you are thinking about slicing the ball, then you will most likely slice the ball. You have to put all your fears aside, all your negative thoughts aside, and think of the perfect shot. If a negative shot sneaks into your head, then step away and reapproach the ball.

So, in order to gain a better golf swing you will need to work on your mental golf game. The mental side of golf is far more important than the physical side of golf so practice on a crowded range and teach yourself how to picture the perfect shot every single time you step up to the ball.

Golf Training to Increase Club Head Speed

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Golf training with golf exercises and golf fitness training is a key to increased driving distance off the tee. The process by which the golfer can increase club head speed is two-fold. Step number one is increasing the efficiency at which the biomechanics of the golf swing are executed. Increased efficiency in the biomechanics of the golf swing will allow a greater percentage of the kinetic energy developed within the golf swing to be transferred into the club head. Thus allowing for increased club head speeds at impact.

The second process by which the golfer can improve how far tee shots travels is through developing the power outputs of the body. We must keep in mind it is the physical body executing the golf swing, and improvement in key areas of the body can increase the potential ball speed of your tee shots. One of these key components is the power outputs of your body.

Power can be defined as the ability to generate the greatest amount of force in a short amount of time. If the golfer increases the ability of his or her muscles to generate power, this can then positively impact the ability to drive the golf ball farther. The process by which the golfer can achieve this outcome is through the implementation of power drills within a comprehensive golf fitness program. Such exercises over time will enhance the ability of the golfer’s muscles to develop increased power within the biomechanics of the golf swing.

The golfer must keep in mind power exercises are not the only type of training beneficial to the golf swing. Execution of the golf swing does require specified levels of flexibility, balance, and muscular strength to execute properly. It is only with the development of these physical components as well as with power training can the full benefit of such exercises be seen in improved clubhead speed on the tee box.

Common power training drills I utilize with my professional golfer’s within a comprehensive golf fitness program are; medicine ball side throws, reverse medicine ball side throws, rotational chest passes, and tubing rotations. All of these exercises develop the power component of the body’s muscles and will benefit the golfer over time.

Remember club head speed is contingent upon both the efficiency at which the biomechanics of the swing are executed, and the ability of the body to generate power. Both components are required in order to increase the distance of you tee shots. The utilization of golf training in the form of golf exercises and golf fitness programs can benefit you on the physical side of developing more club head speed.

Better Golf – Hit Your Fairway Woods Better

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Do you struggle with a 3 wood or a 5 wood from the fairway? You are not alone and there are many golfers that struggle to hit a wood out of the fairway. Are you forcing yourself to hit irons that you know you cannot get to the green because you don’t have confidence in your fairway woods. Read on to learn a few tips on how to hit your fairway woods better.

First, let’s talk about why you need to have your fairway woods as weapons in your golf arsenal. Your fairway woods can cut strokes off your game every time you hit a shorter than normal drive, on par fives, and when you get into specific types of long trouble. Of course, you are not going to be able to have the pin point accuracy that you can have with your irons, but you can get closer and make your approaches on par fives easier, get out of longer trouble, and save yourself a stroke after a bad and short drive.

So how in the world can you learn how to hit a fairway wood better? You need to check your equipment first. Some golfers struggle hitting certain types of woods and drivers. Go to a golf range and demo a few different woods, including a low profile face, a taller face, and maybe a wood that has a smaller head on it. This will give you an idea of what feels comfortable for you and you might just solve the problem right here. If you have a large head on your three wood and you discover that you can actually hit a lower profile fairway wood very well, then you should change your equipment.

The second thing you can do is you can start practicing with your fairway woods on the range more. Many mid and high handicap golfers like to avoid the clubs that they don’t hit very well while they are practicing on the range. Well, if you don’t practice with your 3 wood, then how do you expect to be able to hit it on the course? Start by practicing with it off the tee and work the tee closer and closer to the ground until you are hitting off the ground only. After you get this down you should try hitting out of a divot while practicing. This will help you build your confidence and you will have less trouble with your fairway woods.

You know you need to add the fairway woods to your golf arsenal and now you know how. Start by hitting different designs of fairway woods, then you need to practice with your fairway woods, and build confidence in the clubs. Most golfers that cannot hit a specific club do not have much confidence in that club. If this is the case with your fairway woods, then practice more with them and you will build your confidence and cut strokes off your golf game.

Complete Golf Sets For Beginners

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Instead of buying your golf clubs individually, many people simply purchase complete golf sets instead. Complete golf sets are ideal for golf beginners and people who just enjoy golfing occasionally or on the weekends.

If you are a beginner, there are several things you need to know before you buy an entire golf set. What makes up a complete set? There are four main parts to a set of clubs: Woods, Irons, Wedges, and Putters

There are also Hybrid clubs. (Just to make things more confusing!) A Hybrid club is a cross between an iron and a wood. A golfer is allowed 14 clubs in his or her bag during a game. The golf clubs chosen can be any combination at all.

Purchasing a new or used complete set is an individual’s decision. If you want to save some money (to purchase plenty of golf balls sure to be lost!), a used set may be ideal for you. However, a used set of clubs may come with some problems, such as worn grips, fractured shafts, or other issues. If you do opt for used clubs, make sure the set you buy has been guaranteed by the seller.

To make things simpler for you newbies, many manufacturers have put together starter sets. These complete golf sets usually include a Driver, 3 Wood, 5 Wood, 3 thru 9 Irons, and a Pitching Wedge and Putter all inside a golf bag. As you improve your game, then you can worry about some other clubs to fill up your bag.

Besides buying a complete set of golf clubs, beginner golfers could benefit in purchasing some books, DVD training guides, and/or training aids. Accessories such as these will help you learn more about the game and improve your strokes, stance, etiquette and more.

And here is one more tip for you beginners. If you are confused as to which kind of golf ball to use, just use the cheapest available. At first, be prepared to loose plenty of balls. As you work on your skills, then you should purchase balls that will improve your game. In the meantime, don’t spend too much on your golf balls. They are only going to end up in water hazards and out of bounds, anyway.
